Reduced Fee Eligibility for a Degree Program

Summary: Determine your eligibility for receiving reduced fees to complete a degree program at the University of California.

You must apply and be admitted to the University before you can apply for the reduced fee benefit.

Your eligibility is determined by:

Staff appointment
  • Limited appointment - not eligible.

  • Contract appointment - not eligible

  • Career appointment - you are eligible if you are not required to serve a probationary period, or you have successfully completed a required probationary period (6 months for new employees) and any extension.
Academic appointment

Academic employees should contact the Office of Academic Personnel, (949) 824-7175, to determine eligibility and how to apply.

  • Review Personnel Policies for UC Staff Members, Policy 51,
    for staff and academic employees represented by an exclusive representative, review the applicable memorandum of understanding.
