Reduced Fee Eligibility for a Degree Program

Summary: Determine your eligibility for receiving reduced fees to complete a degree program at the University of California.

You must apply and be admitted to the University before you can apply for the reduced fee benefit.

Your eligibility is determined by:

Staff appointment

Limited appointment - not eligible.
Contract appointment - not eligible
Career appointment - you are eligible if you are not required to serve a probationary period, or you have successfully completed a required probationary period (6 months for new employees) and any extension.

Academic appointment

Academic employees should contact the Office of Academic Personnel, (949) 824-7175, to determine eligibility and how to apply.

Review the University of California Student Fees and Deposits Guide, Section 6. Exemptions, Waivers, and Fee Reductions (see the last few paragraphs of the fee reduction section).
